NextGen Enterprise Dataset Assists with IWP Review
Posted 3/25/08

The Integrated Work Plan (IWP) presents the research, development, and implementation efforts of government and industry partners to achieve the Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen) vision.

JPDO is now presenting information regarding the IWP in an interactive database for ease of use. The NextGen Enterprise Dataset (NED) is an automated tool that provides an interactive view of all planning information entailed in the IWP v0.2. It allows users to view and search planning elements, as well as identifies relationships and impacts between these elements. It also allows government and industry partners to view their specific elements and those belonging to the other partners.

To use this interactive IWP information, navigate to http://65.207.77.76:8080/ned2/home.htm and select the Guest Login link. Next, click on the Integrated Work Plan link. The system will present seven ways to begin your search through the following IWP information:

  • Functional Areas
  • Operational Improvements
  • Enablers
  • Investments
  • R&D Actions
  • Policy Issues
  • Decisions

Users can identify a specific element or a group of elements through filtering items in each list by entering criteria in the text boxes above each column. Select the item name to be redirected to a detailed page which outlines general information on the elements and its relationship to the other IWP elements.

If you have any questions, please contact the JPDO at 9-AWA-ATO-JPDO-Partnership@faa.gov.

For Public Release: NextGen Integrated Working Plan (IWP) Version 0.2
Reformated Document Posted 2/18/08 - Comment Period Is Now Closed

Over the past year, the Joint Planning and Development Office (JPDO) and its Working Groups, the NextGen Institute, and partner government departments and agencies have developed the Integrated Working Plan (IWP) Version 0.2.

The IWP serves as a master planning document to present a summary view of the results required of all partners in order to achieve the NextGen vision as presented in the NGATS Integrated Plan of 2004. The IWP Version 0.2 reflects the current NextGen Concept of Operations and the Enterprise Architecture. The JPDO is releasing Version 0.2 for an initial public review as well as an expanded review by the aviation industry and federal partners. The following information is provided for your review and comment in an effort to improve this version and support our progress toward developing a baseline plan.

In short, the IWP is the JPDO plan to achieve NextGen. This document is a preliminary draft version of the final document to describe how NextGen will improve safety, security, mobility, efficiency, and capacity to transform the nation’s air transportation system. It will continually be refined and enhanced to reflect current priorities, budgets, and programs.
