    <description>The Joint Planning and Development Office, with its role in facilitating the multi-agency development of NextGen, places considerable emphasis on the value of transparency and open government. These are important values in implementing strategic change. With this in mind, the Joint Planning and Development Office (JPDO) continues to look for ways to promote engagement with other departments and agencies of government. It’s a part of telling the NextGen story. On February 23, the JPDO’s Director of Interagency Architecture and Engineering Division (IAED), Dr. Ed Waggoner, hosted a meeting with a delegation of the Veterans Administration (VA) to discuss the JPDO experience in establishing its Joint Planning Environment (JPE).</description>

    <description>Due to the recent snow storms in the DC-Metro area, the Joint Planning and Development Office (JPDO) and the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA, DC Chapter) postponed their symposium on Information Exchange entitled, <strong>Beyond SOA & Cloud: Next Generation Information Exchange in High Consequence Environments.</strong> Originally scheduled for February 10 at the Hilton Washington, in Washington, DC, this event will now take place at the same venue on either March 18 or 19, depending on the schedules of our speakers. All registrations and sponsorships will be transferred over to the new conference date. The JPDO and AFCEA will send out specific details about the rescheduled event shortly.</description>
