Charles Leader Discusses NextGen in Radio Interview

In an October 16 radio interview with Amy Morris of Federal News Radio (AM 1050, based in Washington, DC), JPDO Director Charles Leader discussed the overall objectives and progress relating to the Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen) initiative.  Leader spoke about providing information in real time to address the specific needs of U.S. aircraft in dealing with air traffic congestion, weather issues, and matters of safety and security.  This can be accomplished through a computerized, satellite-based network utilizing GPS, which will result in increased adaptability and versatility.
